    This 1st webinar was moderated by Professor Marc HIMBERT (LCM-CNAM-LNE).<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    A new definition of the units of the International System of Units (SI) was adopted at the 26rd<\/sup> General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM) in November 2019. The new system of units now relies on fundamental physical constants. It is a more coherent choice, in harmony with quantum and relativistic physics, as well as with the most recent measurement techniques, which can only promote new technologies. The kilogram, represented since 1889 by the international prototype, nicknamed the \"big K\", kept at the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) in S\u00e8vres, near Paris, is now, like most other units, dematerialized.\u00a0After recalling the causes, means and advantages of such a dematerialization of units, this 1st<\/sup> The CAFMET webinar will review some new and more accurate measurement methods for establishing traceability over a very large area, including the implementation of measurement principles based on quantum physics.<\/p>\n

    Professor Marc HIMBERT<\/strong>, a graduate of the \u00c9cole Normale Sup\u00e9rieure, worked for ten years at the Kastler Brossel Laboratory as a CNRS researcher in atomic physics, quantum physics, laser physics. He then joined the Conservatoire National des Arts et M\u00e9tiers in Paris, where he has directed the Chair of Metrology and the Joint Metrology Laboratory (LCM) created in 2008 in partnership with the LNE, since 1992. It is in his laboratory, in particular, that very high accuracy measurements of the Boltzmann constant k and the Planck constant h were carried out prior to the change in definition of the international units of 2018-2019. Member of the Consultative Committee of Units (CCU) that coordinated the revision of the 2018-2019 unit definitions, and of the \"Science and Metrology\" Committee of the French Academy of Sciences, he has chaired the \"Laboratories\" section of the French Accreditation Committee (COFRAC) since 2004. Co-author of about 180 scientific publications or communications, he became in 2009 a full member of the Academy of Technology. Professor Marc HIMBERT has chaired several international conferences organized by CAFMET.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t

    IN BRIEF...<\/h4>\n

    It is important to assure the market that conformity assessment bodies operate on the basis of recognized international standards, and this is the rationale for accreditation and the creation of TUNAC.<\/p>\n

    The accreditation process establishes, in the public interest, the technical competence and integrity of these organizations. Conformity assessment is the demonstration that the service provided does in fact meet the specified or claimed requirements.<\/p>\n

    Conformity assessment can be applied to a product, a service, a process, a system, an organization or a person, and includes activities such as testing, inspection or certification. Measurements also play an essential role in building confidence between trading partners and in demonstrating that products conform to written specifications and legal requirements, so connection to the international SI unit system is important and conformity assessment bodies must ensure metrological traceability.<\/p>\n

    This CAFMET Webinar was an opportunity for TUNAC to share its experiences and review the benefits of accreditation and its importance, the reasons for making it mandatory in certain sectors, as well as the means that must be adopted by conformity assessment bodies to ensure metrological traceability.<\/p>\n

     Madam Sonia MADHOUI MELKI<\/strong> is an engineer in food industries. Her professional career began in September 1997 with her recruitment as a production manager and quality management manager in the JOUDA canning factory in Kairouan - Tunisia. Since September 1998, she joined the National Accreditation Council \"TUNAC\" as a quality management manager. <\/em><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    \"\"   <\/p>\n

    Madam Ghada ALLANI <\/strong>has a degree in Food Industry Engineering with a professional master's degree in Innovation Management. She started her career as an engineer in Allani Sunlife Holding, responsible for the drying of agricultural products. She then joined TUNAC in 2015 as an accreditation manager for food testing laboratories (ISO\/IEC 17025) and appointed since 2020 as an accreditation manager for food certification bodies (ISO\/IEC 17065). She taught at INSAT (National Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology) the ISO\/IEC 17025 standard and ISO 9001 in the framework of a professional master<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t

    Questions related to periodic connections to international standards, to the conformity of measuring instruments and to measurement uncertainties are now at the heart of the profession of industrial metrologists<\/p>\n

    The industry is now interested, and more and more every day, in digitalization. At the heart of the industry of the future, namely Industry 4.0, this \" digitization<\/em> \"seems to promise significant productivity gains, using the \" Big Data<\/em> \" to feed Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) algorithms. This A.I. should help us better understand our processes in order to reach the Holy Grail of \" defects<\/em> \"and the \" right the first time <\/em>\u00bb. These objectives are perfectly in line with the current crucial question of better management of resources, energy or raw materials: \" Doing what is necessary<\/em> \u00bb.<\/p>\n

    Since its creation in 2005, CAFMET's mission has been to promote best practices in metrology and quality. It also endeavours to carry out a technological watch to guarantee up-to-date information.\u00a0CAFMET is resolutely committed to this mission by proposing, in partnership with the company DELTAMU this free webinar during which speakers will present the challenges of the I.     As a preview, the creation of a new license will be presented Data analyst industriel<\/em> co-constructed by Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal, the Institut National Polytechnique Houphou\u00ebt-Boigny in C\u00f4te d'Ivoire and SIGMA Clermont-Ferrand in France.     Jean-Michel POU<\/em><\/strong><\/h6>\n

    After 10 years in a calibration laboratory, from calibration technician to COFRAC accreditation manager and then general manager, Jean-Michel POU decided to create his own company in 1998. DELTAMU has always had a very different vision of metrology than the historical one, which he considers not always adapted to industrial needs. For him, the metrologist must participate, today more than ever, in the global performance of his company.<\/p>\n

    A true metrology enthusiast, a profession he discovered at the end of his studies, Jean-Michel POU decided to create the company DELTAMU to change industrial practices. Convinced that it is not enough to check the measuring instruments every year to guarantee the reliability of the measurement results, he is committed to freely defending his vision of the metrologist's profession.<\/p>\n

    To date, Jean-Michel POU participates in the great 4.0 revolution currently underway in the industrial world. He is notably the Ambassador for the Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes Region of the Alliance Industrie du Futur and Vice-President of the AURA Industrie 4.0 association, born from the merger of the Auvergne Efficience Industrielle excellence cluster and the Mont-Blanc Industries competitiveness cluster. He is also one of the initiators of the specialized Master\u00a9 program accredited by the Conf\u00e9rence des Grandes Ecoles and offered by the SIGMA Clermont engineering school: \"Data Science for Engineering\".
